#1 Best Seller in Christian Fiction Collections & Anthologies

Dangerous Holidays: Christmas Suspense/Mysteries with Romance!

Three fast-paced Christmas romantic suspense novellas with a dash of mystery!

SEASON OF AFFECTION: A celebrity in peril and the small-town boy who crushed her heart years ago. Can a Christmas reunion bring them a second chance at love? When a famous actress, Elizabeth Macalister, returns to her hometown to spend Christmas with her siblings, she doesn’t expect a stalker to follow her there. Or for the man who once broke her heart, local PI Matthew Miller, to offer his help in the investigation. Can she risk it all for the second time?
After his mother, a former beauty queen, left his family, Matthew didn’t want to end up like his father, a bitter alcoholic. So he set his first love free to follow her dreams. Now, when he needs to keep her safe, old feelings resurface. But as danger draws closer, can this Christmas be a new beginning for them – or the last Christmas they ever have?

DANGER UNDER THE MISTLETOE: Eager to heal after losing her husband, security consultant Rachel Evans moves to the small Texas town of Rios Azules. When one of her clients is found murdered under the mistletoe and her rental is broken into, the former thief realizes danger has found her once again. Her neighbor’s widowed son volunteers to help her. But as Rachel’s attraction to him grows, can she trust him with her heart-or her secret-before someone takes her life?

NOELLE ON THE RUN: Small-town nurse Noelle Rochester seems to have a target on her back since her elderly neighbor confided her murder suspicions. After the neighbor is killed and somebody starts following Noelle, she flees to her uncle in Christmas Tyme, Colorado. Nearly run off the road, she turns to a former private investigator, Juan Rivera. But is he ready for or capable of a case like hers? After his fiancée’s death, Juan closed himself off to the world. But he can’t refuse help to a scared stranger, especially one who reminds him of the woman he’s grieving. Two dead bodies, one drive-by shooting, and a kidnaped pet later, Juan and Noelle need to solve the mystery before Christmas—or die trying.

    AMAZON REVIEWS:

Alexa Verde will have you gripping your e-reader tightly as you read about Elizabeth and her stalker in Season of Affection. Elizabeth goes to her hometown to spend Christmas with her siblings and their families. The first person she runs into is Matthew, the boy who broke her heart a decade ago.. Elizabeth and Matthew are well-developed characters, and I enjoyed getting both of their viewpoints and reading about their faith. The romance is touching. While there are regrets about the past, there is also the knowledge that everything has a season. The plot is compelling. I didn’t guess who the stalker was although there were clues. There’s a hold-your-breath kind of climax. The HEA is fabulous!

In Danger Under the Mistletoe, Rachel is a security specialist, and Sebastian is a martial arts teacher. The action grabbed my attention from the very first and never let go. The characters are well-developed and likable. Rachel has a less than stellar past (not her fault), but someone is coming for payback. Can Rachel and Sebastian discover who it is in time? I loved the tenderness that Sebastian shows Rachel and his protectiveness of her. The plot has twists and turns that kept me guessing. The HEA is fantastic.

Noelle on the Run is full of great characters, lots of action, a mystery, murders (nothing overly graphic), romance, and a great big tabby cat with an attitude.

I highly recommend all 3 of these stories, especially to readers of clean romance, Christian romance, romantic suspense, and lovers of all things Christmas. It’s hard to go wrong with a story from Alexa Verde. She’s a master of her craft. As long as she keeps writing, I will keep reading her books.

Book 1 of Dangerous Holidays: Christmas Suspense/Mysteries with Romance is “Season of Affection”. Elizabeth is the youngest of the Macalister children. Elizabeth and Matthew’s love story is mysterious and timeless. They are in love as teens and with God’s mercy they are led back to each other and when they realize what God’s plan is for their lives, they admit their feelings. Of course, they have to solve the mystery first! We all feel sorry for poor her sister Lacy Jane!!

Alexa loves to add suspense to her books making them more intriguing and you cannot put them down. Another must read from Alexa.

Book 2 is “Danger Under the Mistletoe”. Rachel and Sebastian’s love story is amazing. Rachel has a past that she has to forgive herself for before she can fully love Sebastian. It is awesome that they first declare their love for each other in front of their kidnappers! I recommend this book to anyone who loves good clean Christian happily ever afters with a twist of mystery and suspense.

All of Alexa’s books leave her readers wanting more and trying to figure out what the mystery is, but we cannot!

Book 3 is “Noelle On The Run”. Noelle and Juan’s love story is beautiful. Noelle needs help and goes to Juan, who has been a recluse for years. So he not only helps her but she helps him. There is mystery and suspense in this book which makes it very thrilling. They will do anything for each other. Noelle helps Juan regain his faith in God. Alexa tells the story in such a way that we have no idea what the mystery is until it unfolds!

Another awesome book by Alexa. I recommend all her books to everyone who loves good clean Christian books, sometimes with mysteries to solve.

This is a great Christmas collection of previously published stories. There is suspense and mystery in each story that will keep you hanging on to discover who are the villains in each story.

SEASON OF AFFECTION. – this one I had read before and enjoyed reading it again. This story involves a stalker who is sending threatening notes to a known actress, Elizabeth Macalister. She decides to spend Christmas in her home town with her family but gets concerned when the threats follow her to her hotel. Meeting face to face with the man who rejected her so many years ago she agrees to let him help her discover who is threatening her.
Matthew Miller has now become a P.I. and he wants to help Elizabeth stay safe while determining who her stalker may be. Matthew let Elizabeth go to protect his heart so many years ago but after spending time with her again, he’s not sure if he can let her go again.

DANGER UNDER THE MISTLETOE. This story had so much suspense to it and I loved the characters. Rachel Evans had a horrific past but she managed to turn her life around. She used her past experiences to make a business in setting up security for rich people to help them avoid being robbed. Moving to a new town to get away from her brokenness after the death of her husband, she begins to sense that she may be in danger from her past. When one of her clients is murdered and her new home is broken into, she is willing to receive help from Sebastian, the grandson of her new neighbor.
Sebastian had his own past that had almost destroyed his life when his wife was murdered by a robber. He was a martial arts expert who owned his own business and he became a wonderful protector to Rachel.
This story kept the suspense going right up to the end.

NOELLE ON THE RUN.- This story starts out with Noelle Rochester heating a rumor from her neighbor that someone had been murdered. Watching that same neighbor killed in a hit and run accident had Noelle leaving town for Christmas. Whoever was behind the murder seemed to be following her to Christmas Tyme, Colorado where she would be spending Christmas with her uncle. When the killer tries to run Noelle off the road, she flees to Juan Rivera, a friend of her uncle who had been a former P.I.
Juan had closed off his life after his Fiance was killed in an accident. He had become a hermit with a cat as his only companion. When Noelle came to him for help, he felt like she was a lifeline to help him come back to the land of the living. Together these two would need to figure out who was behind the murders before they became the next victims.

I enjoyed all three stories and would recommend this collection to anyone who likes a good suspense with a touch of romance.

My favorite part is the puzzle. It is interesting to see how often seemingly random pieces are important clues in the whole picture of solving the mystery.

I think it’s the needing to catch or find out who the bad guy is before they find the MC in the story. Or it could also be the puzzle 😉

Christian mystery stories are intriguing because of their mystery, maybe a touch of romance, surprises full of the unknown, and especially because of seeing God work throughout the story and answered prayer, which is the most important part of all, of course:) My favorite genre is Romantic Suspense, although I do enjoy other kinds of Christian Fiction as well. Thanks for the opportunity to enter a giveaway! Would love to win a print copy!

I read mysteries for the puzzle. I really got hooked on them when I was in 11th grade and came down with viral pneumonia. My mind was kept occupied in looking for clues and solving the puzzle, which not only kept me entertained, but made me less focused on how I felt physically.
