Warning: This book deals with loss by suicide and the grief a family endures.
Life has been comfortable for the Miller family. Liz and Josh have devoted their lives to raising their two sons. Their oldest son, Colby, reached adulthood and set out on his own. A few hard knocks sent him back to live with Mom and Dad, until life got to be too much, that is. As Liz and Josh grapple with the hole in their hearts left by Colby’s early departure from this world, they find themselves at odds with one another and with their faith.
Will they remember that Jesus is enough in the middle of this dark storm? Will they see through their own pain and help each other and their teenage son, Tyler, learn to live despite the grief?
I love finding new-to-me authors! You never know when you might discover a true gem.
As a new author, I love hearing that you are willing to give new-to-you authors a try! That encourages me so much.
I have a feeling that you’ll do just fine. ♥
Thank you Robin!
Me too, Robin – and then I need to find all their books and binge read, lol!
Wow, this book sounds like a Must read book for all. Regina Walker is a new to me author. I take a chance of a brand new author to me book because of what the book is about, after I read a snippet of it and if it sounds interesting to me. Thank you for the chance.
Your willingness to give new authors a chance is such an encouragement to me as a new author!
Thank you, Alicia, I hope you get the chance to read it!
I really like finding new to me authors, and your post makes me want to read this one! Also, the fact that there have been two suicides in my extended family, two on the street I live on, and others that I know about, makes me want to read this.
I hope you grab a copy and enjoy We Go On. I am sorry that suicide has reached you personally in so many ways.
I am so sorry to hear you have been through that, Trudy. This story really hits you in the heart!
I have actually done this before, but it was for someone I personally knew. The topic was one of interest and I wanted to show my support.
As for a stranger, if the topic was one of interest, the fact that it was their first book wouldn’t deter me from choosing to read it.
That is excellent to hear – some people shy away from first books and as a brand new author, that makes me a little bit sad. Thank you for commenting!
That is beautifully said, Susan!
It’s all about the topic! I’ll also be more inclined to give a new author a try if I’ve read a recommendation.
Recommendations are the lifeblood of authors. Word of mouth, reviews, sharing with friends are the ways stories truly live. We need readers to share the books they love. ♡ Thank you for commenting.
Me too, Michele!
1. A cover 2. Genre 3. Synopsis 4. Recommendation
These are 4 things that will draw me to a new author though not particularly in this order.
Excellent points, Pat! Thank you for sharing!
That is a clear list. Thank you!
