HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!
Hi, Robin! Spanish would be very useful for my job, but I can’t speak a word of it🙄
Hello, Robin! Oh, Spanish is such a beautiful language. It was one of the top choices for languages to learn for me, too. Thank you very much for commenting!
I would love to speak French fluently. I took it in high school and college.
To me that is one of the prettiest languages, Sonnetta!
Sonnetta, that’s one of the most beautiful languages I ever heard! Never learned to speak it, though. Thank you for stopping by!
Probably Spanish because it could actually be used purposefully if the opportunity arose. But I’d love to learn Sign Language although I’d have to purposefully look for an outlet to use it.
Oh my, Susan! ASL is one I want to learn so much too!
Hello, Susan! That’s so true. A lot of people speak Spanish, so it’s very useful to speak it. I imagine it would be fascinating to learn the Sign Language! Thank you for sharing!
I studied French from 6th grade through sophomore in college. I miss not being able to speak like I once could so I would love a refresher course.
That is lovely, Lori! My boss speaks French, but she gets a refresher too now and then since she doesn’t speak it every day anymore!
Lori, yes, a refresher course is so much needed when one doesn’t speak language on a regular basis. I used to speak German fluently but not anymore! Thank you so much for commenting!
I would want to learn German fluently. Years ago I had German in school. My ancestors are from Germany.
Christine, how cool! I used to speak German fluently and went to Germany twice. I looooved it!
I hope you’ll get a chance to learn German. Thank you for commenting!
I know what you mean, Christine, that’s why I want to learn Italian…my heritage!
I would love to speak Spanish because I like the pronunciation of it.
Yes, it’s such a beautiful language! Thank you very much for commenting!
It is a very beautiful sounding language, Mehmet!
I would love to be fluent in Sign Language and Spanish, I know a little of each language to get by but I am not fluent in either one.
Hello, Christie! How cool that you know a little of Sign Language! That would be an interesting language to learn for sure. And Spanish language is awesome. I actually have a degree in Spanish. 🙂
Wow, Christie, at.leaat you can get by! I would love to learn ASL and Italian
I would love to be fluent in sign language. I have always thought it was a beautiful expression of communication an emotion. I learned a little when I was in middle school and had deaf kids as classmates. I loved it!
That is so sweet, Lejune! My son learned the alphabet in ASL…I can still spell his name😁
Lejune Allen, Sign Language is a beautiful expression of communication in emotion indeed. I hope you’ll get an opportunity to be fluent in it! Thank you very much for stopping by!
My roots are Germany so would like to learn German but practically living in the states especially California, Spanish would probably be a better choice and quite helpful in my career. I just wish I was better at learning a language as I did not do to well in high school Spanish.
I hear you, Lorel..so many times I answer the phone at work and they ask if I speak Spanish😟
Lorel, I think there are different and more fun ways to learn a language than in classroom. I learned Spanish primarily by watching telenovelas! And I learned something new about you today. 🙂
I’m from the U.K. but living in the U.S. since last March. I lived in Sweden and France for a few years so I was able to speak both Swedish and French fluently. I taught both languages in schools and at evening classes for over 30 years and offer teanslation services for both, but of course, living there was the best way for me to learn. I love languages though and would love to learn Japanese. I have a smattering of Cantonese, but not enough to get by.
Carmina, you must have such an interesting life. I heard Swedish is a very difficult language to learn, so kudos to you for learning to speak it fluently. Japanese and Cantonese are even more difficult! Once upon a time, I was fascinated with Japanese. I agree that it would be a great language to learn. Loved your comment! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thank you, Alexa. I only just saw your comment, now. Yes, my life has been incredibly interesting and a veritable roller-coaster for much of it. Haha. Japanese is harder to learn, but I would love to.
Wow, that is ambitious, Carmina! I cannot even imagine speaking all of that!
Thank you, Paula. I just love languages, it’s my thing. 🙂
When I was at school, I had no interest in learning another language, so when, at not quite 17, I went to work in Sweden as an au-pair for a year, I had to learn quickly. I was surprised by how easy it turned out to be for me. A few years later, I went to France and had to learn quickly there, too. I loved it. I used to think how wonderful it would be, to go to a different country, a year at a time…I want to learn every language. Haha.
Wow, that’s amazing! You definitely have a gift for languages. And yes, would be wonderful to go to different countries for a year!
Amazing, Carmina, I cannot even imagine trying to learn all that!
This book sounds so good! Love the sound of it.
We love close to Canada so French would be great to learn.
Thank you for your kind words about my new book, Vickie! And French is such a pretty language.
Yes, Vickie, I bet that French would be very useful there! And such a beautiful language!
I have fallen in love with each of the Chapel Cove books❤️ I’m really looking forward to another, especially since it’s Valentine’s month!
I couldn’t agree with you more, Debra!
Awww, thank you! And that’s true about the Valentine’s month!
French
Thanks, Brenda! French is definitely a front runner😁
Such a beautiful language! Thank you for commenting, Brenda!
Hi, your book sounds like a very good read. I would love to speak Italian fluently, only because a lot of it sounds like spanish and of course I know spanish, my husband is half Italian, he doesn’t know much Italian. I think it is a very nice language. Thank you for the chance.
Yay for another vote for Italian, Alicia! Thank you for sharing!
Hello, Alicia! Thank you for your kind words about my Belong with Me. Italian does sound a lot like Spanish, and how awesome that you speak Spanish already. Thank you very much for sharing!
Your book sounds awesome as always! One of the most fascinating languages I’ve ever heard is Arabic. It is a very hard language to learn. I know someone that can speak it fluently oh, but I’m not sure I could oh, but I would like to. I would also like to learn sign language!
Rose, awww, thank you for your kind words about my books! I agree that Arabic would be a very difficult language to learn. And sign language would be a truly fascinating language to learn! Thank you for stopping by and for all your support.
Hi, Rose! I bet that Arabic is very difficult to learn! I too would love to learn ASL, thank you for sharing!
Mine would definitely be Spanish!!! I’ve always wanted to learn, took Spanish in middle school, but didn’t continue. I got bored with learning the grammar part!
Trudy, I think there’s too much attention to grammar part when teaching a new language, and it makes the process more difficult and less effective. Learning a new language should be fun! Thank you for stopping by!
Hey, Trudy! I am with you, I can barely remember what I learned of Spanish in school!
I would love to speak Spanish fluently for a plethora of reasons!
Thanks for the chance to win!
I like all of Alexa’s books that I’ve read so far!
Terry, you’re so sweet! So glad you liked my books. And so true, speaking Spanish is so helpful for many reasons. Thank you for commenting!
Aw, Terry, you are so sweet, thank you! Alexa does write awesome stories ❤️
I would love to speak French. It sounds like such a beautiful language!
I completely agree with you, Edwina! I love listening to my boss when she is having a conversation in French.
Edwina, it’s a very beautiful language indeed! Thank you for commenting. 🙂
I would love to speak Spanish. Duolingo and I are making a try at it, but it’s slow going for this old lady!
Oh, you will have to keep us posted on how you are doing, Lisa! Praying for you!
Thank you for your prayers. They are needed!
Lisa, I looooove Spanish! Great choice. And I hope you’ll be able to speak it fluently. If you need help, please let me know. 🙂
Thanks for your offer to help! I’m afraid that a brain transplant may be needed though!
Congratulations!!!!!!
Well, I speak English and Russian…learned German in University-looong time ago lol
I’d love to learn Spanish!
Wowsers, Natalya, that is amazing!
Natalya, I guessed about you speaking Russian. 🙂
I am currently learning Spanish and wish to learn Portuguese or Italian next, I am french so already speak French, also English , bilingual, just love learning language.

Kay, French is such a beautiful language indeed! And glad to hear you like romances set in small towns. Thank you very much for stopping by!
I think that Spanish would be most useful in the US. But I would really love to learn Italian too. legallyblonde1961@yahoo.com
Hello, Kara! Thank you for sharing! I want to learn Italian too!
Kara, so true, Spanish is very useful! Italian is such a beautiful language, and many words seem similar to Spanish. Thank you very much for commenting!
Definitely Spanish!
Happy Valentine’s Day, Alexa!!!
Thanks for visiting with us, Alison, and Happy Valentine’s Day to you too!
Awww! Happy Valentine’s Day, Alison! Thank you so much!
Paula Marie and Alexa I would love to learn to speak Dutch fluently. I am of Dutch background and can speak the language a tiny bit and I understand it a bit more. I still have family that live in The Netherlands and would love to be able to communicate with them better.
Happy Valentines to 2 of my special friends.❤️❤️❤️
What a lovely thought, Betty! I still have family in Italy, but cannot communicate due to language 😟.
Happy Valentine’s Day to you too!!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you, too, Betty! You’re a special friend to me, too, and I’m grateful for your friendship. And it was interesting to learn that you have Dutch background. Thank you for stopping by!
I would like to learn to speak Spanish fluently, because where I live there are a lot of Mexicans who come here to work. They work at jobs that a lot of Americans think they are too good for like handpicking cabbage, pumpkins, etc. They are happy to just have the work.
That is such a great attitude to have, and I would love to learn Spanish as well!
Karen, I love Spanish! Such a beautiful language and very useful, too. I actually have a B.A. in Spanish. Thank you for commenting!
I would enjoy learning Italian or Swedish. One of my neighbors when I was growing up was from Sweden.
Oh, Swedish sounds interesting, Lori! I so want to speak Italian 😁
Lori, Italian is such a beautiful language. And Swedish sounds fascinating! Thank you for sharing!
I have one that no-one has said yet! I would like to speak isiXhosa. It is the language from the province where I teach in South Africa, so most of my students speak it as their first language. Unfortunately, I am limited to a greeting.
Wow, that is awesome, Jennifer! Maybe they can teach you, lol!
Jennifer, that’s pretty amazing! I never even heard of that language. And how nice of you to want to speak your students’ native language.
I want to learn French or Cajun-French,; at least enough to be able to talk and understand some of my Cajun hubby’s family and friends!
That is a tough one for sure, the Cajun! Do you all live in Louisiana, Cheryl?
Cheryl, this is so cool! I hope it’s okay to say it here, but I loved Cajun food!
As I live in South Africa, to speak the African language Zulu fluently would be a great advantage. I also have a Spanish friend, so would love to speak that too!
Yay for another African language, Thea!
Thea Ferreira, Zulu sounds fascinating! Probably a difficult language to learn? And I love Spanish!
Spanish! I even took 2 semesters of it 3 years ago. I think I had the highest grade in the class, I just needed to practice with people. In our area there are A LOT of people who only speak Spanish. It would be so helpful, I could witness to them better.
God bless,
Kim in NC
That is wonderful, Kim, hope you get more practice 😁
Kim, what a noble reason for wanting to learn Spanish. Thank you very much for sharing!
I would love to be able to speak French.
Such a pretty language, Elizabeth!
Thank you, Elizabeth! A beautiful language, and a popular choice here!
What a lovely cover. This books sounds wonderful. I would learn Spanish again. I remember some but not nearly enough. I run into a lot of Spanish speaking people, some are friends, and it would be lovely to converse in their language. Also, German. My husband has a lot of letters from relatives going all the way back to the late 1800’s. It would be awesome to be able to read them. I would love to go to Germany some day.
That sounds like a dream trip, Lori, I love ancestry!
Lori Smanski, thank you very much for your kind words about my new release. I hope you’ll learn Spanish again. And wow on the letters going all the way back to the late 1800’s. I hope you’ll visit Germany some day, too. Such a beautiful country!
Well, I would rather learn Spanish, but seeing as I live in a province in Canada which is bilingual, it would certainly be more beneficial for me to learn French fluently.
I imagine so, Sandra…just as Spanish would be useful here in Florida!
I would like to speak Italian-it seems like it is spoken so fast. I tend to speak fast.
Lol, I am always being told to slow down when speaking, must be my Italian genes,😁
Joye, I speak very fast, too! Considering English is not my native language and I have an accent, that doesn’t help people understand me. Thank you for stopping by!
I would actually love to learn sign language. As for a speaking language I would learn French. Not sure i’d ever use it but it’s such a beautiful language.
I agree, Jacqueline….it is lovely to listen to😁
Jacqueline, I agree! French is such a beautiful language. Thank you for commenting.

Since Spanish-speakers outnumber English-speakers in my hometown, I would enjoy being able to communicale with both types of speakers.
