New Release by Alexa Verde! Show Me a Stand-in Husband: Small-Town Single-Father Cowboy Romance (Cowboy Crossing Romances Book 9)

September 8, 2021 in my point of view

New Release by Alexa Verde! Show Me a Stand-in Husband: Small-Town Single-Father Cowboy Romance (Cowboy Crossing Romances Book 9)

Can an accidental marriage between a rebellious cowgirl and a straitlaced single-dad doctor become true love?

After a traumatic divorce, Aurora Moore never wants to get married again. But when her rock-singer boyfriend, Ari, needs married status to clean up his act for a budding new career, she reluctantly agrees to help. What should she do when she realizes the man she just married is her boyfriend’s twin?

In Vegas for his brother’s wedding, Carter McFarland wakes up with a throbbing headache after too many painkillers—and a ring on his finger! Apparently, Ari’s drunken friends mistook Carter for Ari and dragged Carter to the altar while Ari was asleep. Annulment in order, right?

But, due to a painful secret, Carter needs a mother for his son, who takes an immediate shine to Aurora. Carter’s father threatens him with a heart attack and his grandmother with her cane when he as much as peeps that his marriage was a mistake. With time, he also senses vulnerability and kindness behind Aurora’s rebellious facade and is drawn toward the vibrant woman. But is it enough to turn a stand-in husband into a real one?

Welcome to Cowboy Crossing, a small town in the Show Me State where swoon-worthy single dad cowboys fall for strong-willed forty-something women, though sometimes those rugged handsome men might need a nudge—or a push.

    my point of view:

This story was a lot of fun, and had everything I enjoy in a Christian romance! A single dad, a divorced, hurting strong female character…a little suspense, and most of all a romance story that will melt your heart! This series is full of family love, and it shows in every book. This one especially, since as much as Aurora loves her family, she really doesn’t like them interfering, lol. Coming from a large Italian family myself, I can completely understand how she feels! Alexa Verde never ceases to amaze me with her writing.

She brings characters who are real and situations such as divorce, pain and suffering, that we can all relate to. Plus, she gives us wonderful words of God’s amazing love and forgiveness.

    Some Amazon reviews:

Oh my goodness this story had me so hooked from the very beginning. Aurora and Carter are just amazing and I fell in love with Jaxton right away. This series makes you want to be apart of Aurora’s family because there is so much love for each and every person that comes into the family. Carter’s family is also like Aurora’s just tons of love to give to everyone. I don’t ever want this series to end but there is only one more book and it is over. This is by far my favorite series by Alexa Verde. If you want a book and or series to make you feel so good after reading it this is the series for you. I highly recommend this book and the whole series to everyone.

This is the long awaited book 9 of the Cowboy Crossing Romance series. Aurora and Carter’s love story is beautiful. It starts out as a mistaken identity marriage where Aurora thinks she is marrying her boyfriend, Ari, but actually marries his twin brother, Carter. They see the Hand of God at work. Carter’s son, Jaxton, is delightful and loves Aurora right away. It is great to see Aurora and her family from the other books in this one.

Once again, Alexa has written a truly remarkable book. I cannot put her books down until I have finished them and they are all must reads for everyone who loves good, clean Christian books.

I just love the family connections in this series, even though each story can stand alone. Aurora shines as a talented multi-faceted self assured woman, yet a rash vow in her past had locked down her best creativity. Carter was a successful cardiologist, yet all his achievements could not satisfy his aching heart. Thrown together in a bizarre marriage, by helping each other they were able to find themselves. Like everything Alexa writes, it was a very uplifting and fulfilling story.

    About Alexa Verde

Alexa Verde writes feel-good small-town romances with a smile. She’d love it if you subscribed to her newsletter http://www.alexaverde.com/contact.html#newsletter (every subscriber gets a free Christian romance after confirming the subscription as a thank-you gift). She penned her first literary masterpiece, a rhymed poem, at the ripe age of eight, and since has had twenty books and 200 short stories, articles, and poems published in the five languages that she speaks. She has bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish, a master’s in Russian, and enjoys writing about characters with diverse cultures. She’s worn the hats of reporter, teacher, translator, model (even one day counts!), caretaker, and secretary, but thinks that the writer’s hat suits her the best. After traveling the world and living in both hemispheres, she calls a small town in south Texas home. The latter is an inspiration for the fictional setting of her popular series Rios Azules Christmas and Secrets of Rios Azules. She hopes and prays that her stories will bring joy to her readers. Heartfelt thanks for interest in her books!

I’ve never done anything quite like Aurora. I did move my 2 kids and me to a town where we didn’t know anyone. It was God’s plan I’m sure.
