After fulfilling a pledge to a dying friend, Zacharias Hamilton is finally free. No family entanglements. No disappointing those around him. Just the quiet bachelor existence he’s always craved. Until fate snatches his freedom away when the baker of his favorite breakfast bun is railroaded by the city council. Despite not wanting to get involved, he can’t turn a blind eye to her predicament . . . or her adorable dimples.
Abigail Kemp needs a man’s name on her bakery’s deed. A marriage of convenience seems the best solution . . . if it involves a man she can control. That person definitely isn’t the stoic lumberman who oozes silent confidence whenever he enters her shop. Control Zacharias Hamilton? She can’t even control her pulse when she’s around him.
When vows are spoken, Abigail’s troubles should be over. Yet threats to the bakery worsen, and darker dangers hound her sister. Can she put ever more trust in Zach without losing her dreams of independence?
I have to say. Paula, you had me at Texas 1892. lol
I love your review. It sounds like a great book to read. Your excitement comes through about the whole book. I really love when the couple, together find God and His love.
I plan to snatch this one up soon.
Thank you Paula!
I’m interested in finding out more about Karen
and her books.
Blessings to all!
Lol, Kathy! I know you will enjoy!
So glad you found this story (and this author). I have read a lot of her Karen Witemeyer’s books. My most favourite ones are A Worthy Pursuit and To Win Her Heart, but More Than Words Can Say is a really great story too. We first meet Zach in More Than Meets the Eye so I loved reading about his own HEA.
Thank you so much for sharing these other stories with us, Margaret! I will definitely need to check them out!
Sounds like a great book! I don’t think I’ve read anything by her, either, but I’ve definitely heard about this book!!!
Right, Trudy? I kept hearing so much too, that’s why I had to try it💜
This book sounds like a very good page turner! I love stories about Marriage of convenience especially when the couple falls in love and everything works out for the better. I would love to read this book, I really love the cover also. Thank you for sharing your book review. I will be adding this book to my TBR list.
I am so glad you found the post helpful, Alicia! Hope you get to read the book!
So loved this book! I just finished her novella about Rosalind Kemp, More Than a Pretty Face, in the Serving Up Love Collection. My only complaint — it was a novella and I wanted a full novel for Rosalind!
I will need to check that out, Kelly, thank you!
Looks like a fantastic book! I want to put this book on my growing Christmas list.
Yay, hope you receive it!
