Carly Smith came by her trust issues honestly. A victim of sex trafficking, she’s been at the mercy of merciless men, ignored by law enforcement officers who should have helped her, and seemingly rejected by her family. She can’t even trust herself to do the right thing. Though she escaped her captors and is working hard on building a new life, the past continues to haunt her when she discovers that the man she couldn’t bring herself to report to police for fear of reliving her captivity is still out there, luring vulnerable girls under the guise of being a modeling agent.
When her own niece is kidnapped, Carly must overcome her fears and come forward with the information she has before it’s too late. When that proves to be not enough, she’ll have to go after the perpetrators herself.
Award-winning author Patricia Bradley keeps the suspense taut and the stakes high in this fast-paced story that will have readers turning pages long into the night.
my point of view:
I am doing it again, folks – bringing you a ‘new to me’ author today! This book had me hooked from the first page, and what a thriller! I was so caught up in the story, that I think I may have skipped a meal or two (which is really okay for me, lol) and may have been late going to bed a night or two as well, lol! I will be honest with you, I try not to read too much news (totally depressing most of the time, right?) and so I was completely blown away about how prevalent human trafficking is, so sad!
Carly’s tenacity is amazing, she fights so hard to lead a ‘normal’ life and help young girls in trouble – just don’t ask her to help a girl who has been through what she has. It’s amazing how we can delude ourselves sometimes, and it takes so much courage to actually admit God is in control. Once we do, though, the world has a whole new meaning! I love a story that has a journey for the characters – especially a journey to find a relationship with God. This part of the story would have kept me entertained by itself….now let’s toss in the intrigue, oh my!
The suspense of this novel truly had me guessing at who the bad guys were from the get go, and I changed my mind at least half a dozen times before I was finished! There were times I was literally holding my breath and wanted to shout at the characters, like I do at the TV during a football game – “No, don’t go there….or turn around, look behind you”! You are probably laughing at me now, but it’s true, lol! It truly had my heart pumping! I am so glad I had the opportunity read this amazing book, and now I want to share this recommendation with all of you!

Our wonderful reader, Trudy sent me these photo’s of her mom’s picture jewelry to share with all of you!
I would put my Momma’s picture in a pocket that I would wear daily. My Momma passed away in 2012 and I care her in my heart everywhere. I did not realize how much I depended on her. My family was very close when my Momma was living but since her passing my family has went separate ways. It is like she was the glue that keep us together. I miss our talks that we had. It is just the little things that seem so big. I try to spend all the time with my two daughters and two grandbabies now because in these world you never know when time will end and who will go first. I love all of my family and I hope I have told them and showed them.
That is so beautiful, Dorothy…and I know what you mean about about losing a family member and the spreading out of everyone else, sad but happens so often.
I would place my son’s photo in a locket because he’s always in my heart.
Amen, Jeanne! Same here❤️
I would put a photo of my parents to keep them close to my heart as they are no longer with me.
That is so sweet, Linda!
I would honestly have to think hard about who I would put in my locket. I have 5 kids, so I couldn’t single just one, and I don’t have one of the five of them together. Or I could put a picture of me and the love of my life in there, which is what a lot of people do. Or I would simply leave it as is…a beautiful locket with space to keep on filling. There are so many wonderful people that fill my heart I just can’t pick one!
Sounds like you would need a whole bunch of lockets, Lynette!😍
My grand kids! ♥
Yay for the grands, Robin!
☺
Probably my mother’s.
That’s so sweet, Becky!
I would probably have a picture of my mom. I miss her everyday.
How lovely, so many moms are being mentioned!Thank you for sharing, Beth!
I would put a picture of my parents. We lost them much too soon from cancer. I miss them so much.
Thanks for visiting, Paula! I love hearing the love for the parents today!❤️
I would happily wear a locket with my son’s photo.
He has lived in Japan for the past nine years and I think of him daily. He is always in my heart
Oh, Sylvia, you must miss him terribly! Do you get to visit him there?
My daughter was hit by a car and passed away at 15 – 3 weeks before her 16th birthday. My husband gave me a gold heart locket with her picture at Easter a few weeks later. This was in 1986 and I still wear the locket. She is always in my heart.
Oh, Sandra, my heart breaks for you🙏. Praying for you.
I would have to rotate my five grandchildren’s photos. One week at a time. They are my heart, collectively and individually.
How precious, Julia! Maybe they could all get together and do a group photo for you😍
I’d place a picture of my parents in a locket.
More parent love! Yay! Thank you, Mackenzie!
my grand children
Thank you for sharing, Judy! My first grandchild is due this December 😍
I would put a photo of my grandchildren in a locket. They live far from me, and I would love to have them close to my heart in a locket, although they are always in my heart!
Sorry you do not get to see them often, Rose 😰!
Thank you again Paula for a great article!! I love suspense, on hot button topics & having them a Christian story as well…win, win! I can’t wait to read Patricia’s books!
In a locket would absolutely be my Momma! She’s been home with the Lord a few years now but is always in my heart & at the forefront of my mind. Having her around my neck would be awesome! Of course my grandkids would be nice too.
I think you will really enjoy her books then, Deb! Lovely sentiment for your locket choice!
Thank you Paula. You must really read a lot of books. lol
I love your review. I love suspense books, but sometimes I’m scared it will be too scary. lol
After your review and knowing it’s Christian, I would definitely want to read this one. Did you know that human trafficking is the number one crime in the world now? I think we all need to be aware of it, especially mothers with children! They go after any age though.
Thank you Patricia for bringing our awareness of sex/human trafficking through your book.
Wow, Kathy, no I did not know that – thank you for informing me! How scary is that?? Sad too. I think you will definitely like Patricia’s books!
Oh, wow, this is easy!! I don’t actually have a locket; however, I bought a necklace for Mom after Daddy passed away that has their wedding picture on it. They can do it with any picture you take in, so I did their wedding picture. My cousin had one done for my aunt, and I decided her suggestion of having one done for Mom would be great, as it’ll be mine later on. A friend here had one made for herself of her parents before I did Mom’s. Quite a few ladies have seen Mom’s and want one of their own, and asked where to have them done, and a couple were thinking of giving them as gifts to loved ones.
Trudy, that sounds so intriguing, I bet it is beautiful! You will have to send me a photo of it, i’d love to hear more about it!
I wish I could post a pick on here of it! It’s on 14kt gold. You can do it on 10kt, too. I will take a pic and send it to you on FaceBook. I wouldn’t mind if you posted it on here, either, as I think it’s a great memento of loved ones. Another Aunt has one just of my Uncle, since he passed away. It’s something I treasure now, though I’ve never worn it, just Mom has, since it’s hers. However, since I got it for her, it will be mine later! Not too soon, I hope!!
Thank you so much,, Trudy! I will be glad to see it
Trudy, thanks for sharing, your locket is so beautiful!!
You’re welcome! The description didn’t do it justice! It’s not etched in it, either, the whole thing is smooth. If you turn it a little, you don’t even see the picture.
Thank you for the chance to win this sounds like a great book I would put a picture of my husband in the locket because I lost him 11 years ago!
Aww, I am so sorry, Sarah…praying for you!
This sounds like a really great book! Thanks for a chance to win a copy.
Thank you for visiting with us, Patricia!
Would love to read.
Thank you for sharing!
Hi, I would put a photo of my whole family and place it in my heart locket. My daughter gave me a necklace that has a cross and it has my daughters, my son’s and my 3 grandchildrens birthstones on it and I wear it along with my crucifix cross and the guardian angel medal, it is my very special and favorite necklace because I have my big babies and my little babies birthstones on it. This book sounds intriguing and like a very good page turner. I would love to read it and so I will be adding it to my TBR list. Thank you so very much for sharing your book review. God Bless you all. Have a Great weekend.
I am sure you treasure that cross so much, Alicia, I bet it is beautiful! I love sentimental jewelry the best!
Thanks for the chance to win and thanks for your review of this book.
I would place a picture of my mom in a locket I wore every day. She passed away January 16th of this year and I really miss her.
So sweet of you, Terry, and I am so sorry for your loss.
I would carry a picture of my two kids.
How lovely, Scarlett, I bet they would love that too!
My grandaughter Kassie who passed away at age 2. In my driveway.
That is heartbreaking, Donamae, I am so sorry for your loss.
This book sounds interesting.
I do have a locket and had the worst time deciding what picture to put in it. With 6 kids you can’t fit them all and you can’t play favorites. I ended up with my dad and my grandfather’s pictures in it. Both are now in heaven, so it’s near and dear to my heart.
That would be difficult to squeeze all the kiddo’s in there, Erica! Best go with the dad and grandfather, i agree.
Thank you, Paula Marie, for such a wonderful time on your blog! I’m so glad you enjoyed Justice Delivered. It was definitely a hard book to write. And Kathy is exactly right–human trafficking is the #1 crime across the world. Also, it brings in more money than even drugs.
Researching for Justice Delivered made me much more aware of situations I might have passed off in the past. Blessing to you all!
Thank you for the opportunity, I am thrilled to share with everyone!
I think I’d put a photo of my boys when they were little in it. That’s what I have in there now and I’ve never changed it out. They’re just so cute when they’re little. 🙂
I’m actually reading the first book in this series right now.
Yes, Kimberly, I must agree with you on how adorable babies are! I hope you are enjoying it!
Hi I’m Lori
I would put my son’s picture and my mama’s in my pocket.
My mom passed away in 97 and I still miss her today. I’d put my son’s next her because she just missed seeing him. I lost one in 97
I would love to read this because I love trying new to me authors
Thank you for the chance to win!
What a lovely sentiment Lori! Best of luck in the draw!
I would put my two sons picture in there. That being said, I do have a locket but it is extremely difficult to get a picture tiny enough and the right shape to put in there. Alas, my locket does not have a picture in it.☹️
They are small, aren’t they, Perrianne? I had one growing up that I could never find a photo for either.
My kids photo. Great giveaway!
That is a lovely thought, Susanne! Thank you for visiting with us!
I would put my childrens picture in the locket when they were little. I would love to find a picture with them with their dad and my husband. It is great to meet a new author.
So glad you enjoyed the review, Rose! Thank you for sharing!
I have added Trudy’s mother’s photo’s to the end of the post for everyone to see, since we cannot put photos in the comments!
Patricia Bradley will be a new author to me to explore, learn about and READ. A locket is a piece of jewelry where you store memories. I would have to have a double sided locket to put pictures of my mom and sister who left me too soon to do life by myself!
So sorry for your loss, Cheryl. I hope you get a chance to read this author soon!
i would wear my grand childrens picture in a locket.
Thank you for sharing, Judy!
If it was a double-sided locket, I would put a picture of my husband, daughter and 5 year-old granddaughter on the left side, closest to my heart, and a picture of my mom & dad on the other. My parents are both gone now and I miss them dearly but I know they are both with Jesus! Thank you for your giveaway.
That sounds so beautiful, Connie! We need large lockets, don’t we?
