When a family crisis calls him back to Big Prairie, will Craig Erikson be able to work through past mistakes and a tragedy that had sent him searching for a new place to call home?
Brenna Blaum had been sure of three things in her life—her brother, her running, and her dad’s star receiver. But in a matter of a year’s time, everything she’d counted on fell apart, leaving her devastated. Seven years later, she’s stable again. She has a supportive boyfriend, fulfilling career, and close friends. She keeps her past heartache where it belongs—in her rearview mirror. Until the man who broke her heart finds his way back to Big Prairie.
Craig Erikson had it all—popularity, success, and the love of his high school coach’s daughter. But after a year of mistakes that ended in a tragic accident, he’d left Big Prairie—the place he’d thought to always call home—hoping that without his antagonizing presence, Brenna would be able to heal. Now his mother desperately needs him, as do two young boys in her care. Craig has little choice but to return for good.
Unsure that she can forgive him, Brenna does her best to avoid him. Irritated that she ignores him as if they’d never meant anything to each other, Craig becomes determined not to allow it.
Life in a small town forces their interaction, making them confront their unresolved issues and igniting emotions that have smoldered for seven years. As Craig and Brenna are pushed together, can they endure the hard places still littering their lives? If so, is it possible to find their way back to love and home again?
I loved spelling in high school. I was always a good speller and that’s why I love to read.
Ha, Judy! Where have you been all my life?? I am a terrible speller…I just love spell check 🤣
I loved algebra! It was like a mystery, you followed the steps and found the answer.
Oh wow, math?? Not me, Sherri, hahaha!
My favorite subject in high school was ART! It allowed me to be creative in a world that was tightly controlled by my parents.
Okay, Teresa’s, now we’re talking my language, lol!! Live art!

I loved being in the choir. I didn’t get much out of the basics and only learned all that I know now because I home schooled my children. LOL
I bet you have a lovely voice, Susan! I would have been tossed from the choir pretty quick, lol…
I really liked French.
Lovely, Lori! Are.you fluent?
I was in High School long before most of you were born (class of ‘74)! I was always a History nut, so American History, Civics and sociology were my favorite classes. Latin and Shakespeare came in second
Yes, Andrea! History was always a favorite of mine! I am class of 83, btw!
Accounting was my favorite subject.
Ack, another math genious! Just kidding, Sue! I am hopeless without a calculator though, lol! Thank you for sharing!
Oh, this one sounds good! I’ve heard good things about it, and want to read it! My favorite subject in school was History, with English a close second. I was class of ’80.
Me too, Trudy!! I still do love history!
Math – always numbers 🙂 They are in my blood!
I love my job as an accountant!
Thank you for the review.
That is awesome, Natalya! Math and I have never been very good friends 🤣
I need to go check these books out. They sound great – especially after reading your thoughts on the book Paula! I have yet to read a book you’ve recommend and not like it! Thanks!
Awe, that is so sweet of you to say, Erica! Thank you very much, you made my day❤️
My favorite subject in highschool was math. I hated reading because of reports but when I got out of school it seemed like I could not get enough reading. I rather read than watch TV.
Oh, Dorothy, I am the same way about TV…unless it’s football😁. I would much rather be reading!
My favourite subjects in high school were Bible and Man in Society (MIS).
I went to Christian High School but you can never learn too much about the Bible and the journeys it takes you on.
Man in Society was similar to Bible class but you went out to places like other denominational churches and analyzed the sermons and write your perspective on it. We would also take a popular song and try and decipher what the artist was trying to say and see if their was any biblical balance incorporated into it.
Wow, Betty, that sounds fascinating! I went to Catholic School, they didn’t like exploring any other religious cultures, lol!
My favorite subject in school was math.
