my point of view for Season of Romance

November 28, 2019 in my point of view

Free book for everyone! Plus enter below to win a $5.00 Amazon Gift card!

Affluent businessman from Houston in need of help with his sick nephew… A small-town paramedic in need of healing… Will a season of romance bring them together or pull them apart?

Businessman Andrey Sergeyev’s organized life changes in ways he never planned when he becomes guardian of his orphaned nephew. He moves to small town Rios Azules to care for grieving Ilya in the boy’s familiar environment. Andrey’s fiancée breaks off the engagement because of Ilya’s health challenges. Another romance is not on Andrey’s agenda, no matter how much paramedic Melinda Macalister attracts him with her sweet smile, kindness, and neighborly support for Ilya…
Melinda isn’t looking for love, either, especially after her last boyfriend left her because of her health issues. She’ll just have to hide her crush on her new neighbor. He’s going back to Houston soon anyway. But she can’t refuse to help him with Ilya, who needs her more than ever. Problem is, the more she gets to know Andrey, the more she realizes he might be the one for her.

Will Andrey and Melinda choose to keep holding on to old hurts? Or will they find love in Rios Azules, Texas?

    my point of view:

Honestly, this story will melt your heart….I absolutely fell in love with these characters! So much so that I have read this book more than once! I am always a ‘sucker’ for a story with children, but Ilya is a true treat…and his uncle isn’t so bad either, lol!

I can only imagine what difficulty having a child with an illness can be, but to be dealing with diabetes as well….Melinda is a true hero in my eyes! Then for Andrey, a hard working single businessman, to step up and take responsibility for his sick nephew is so beautiful it makes my heart melt. Another favorite storyline for me is the struggle of where you are in life and what it means to live a life for God.

    About Alexa Verde

Alexa Verde writes stories of love, faith, and mystery to warm your heart. She’d love it if you subscribed to her newsletter http://www.alexaverde.com/contact.html#newsletter (every subscriber gets a free Christian romance after confirming the subscription as a thank-you gift). She penned her first literary masterpiece, a rhymed poem, at the ripe age of eight, and since has had twenty books and 200 short stories, articles, and poems published in the five languages that she speaks. She has bachelor’s degrees in English and Spanish, a master’s in Russian, and enjoys writing about characters with diverse cultures. She’s worn the hats of reporter, teacher, translator, model (even one day counts!), caretaker, and secretary, but thinks that the writer’s hat suits her the best. After traveling the world and living in both hemispheres, she calls a small town in south Texas home. The latter is an inspiration for the fictional setting of her popular series Rios Azules Christmas and Secrets of Rios Azules. She hopes and prays that her stories will bring joy to her readers. Heartfelt thanks for interest in her books!

I’m thankful for my family. My hard working husband, a roof over our heads, food in the freezer and Jesus who loves me through it all. And of course my favorite authors to keep me company.

I’m thankful for health, strength, my job, and ability to do a few hobbies that I enjoy. God is good. Even though I lost my mom in January of 2019, I miss her, but I’m thankful she isn’t suffering anymore.

I know it’s been said, but I am REALLY thankful for MY family!!! I recently fell and broke my hip, and have been in a wheelchair, unable to put ANY weight on that leg!!! So, I’m hopping on the walker to the wheelchair to go anywhere, then from the wheelchair to restroom, or wherever in need to go, back to the walker, hopping back to my recliner and repeat!!! I can’t even get through the closet door to get my clothes!!! Ever try talking your husband through trying to help him find what pants and top you want to wear?!? So,,,I am VERY thankful for them! My husband and daughters made Thanksgiving dinner, with instructions from me, and they did a marvelous job!!!! I thank God for them!

This Thanksgiving is especially meaningful as there are many things for which I am thankful: family, faith community and health. I had retina surgery in September with a complication which resulted in damage to my left eye. Initially I had no vision in that eye. Many prayers have been praying for this situation and much of my vision has been restored, enough to allow me to drive. As an avid reader, being able to read on an e-reader has been a blessing since the font is adjustable. My immediate family was together for Thanksgiving was together: 16 adults, 10 young adults & children.
