my point of view for Let Me Off Easy, Cowboy: a secret baby and amnesia by Valerie Comer

September 17, 2021 in my point of view

New Release and a free ebook!

An old family secret threatens her recovery from amnesia with a secret baby. Run again or stay, there’s no way forward without shredding his heart.
After months of searching, Nathaniel Cavanagh tries to forget the woman who ghosted him just when he was ready to propose. He fulfills his duties on his stepdad’s ranch and tries to accept what appears to be God’s will, but hope and joy are elusive.

Ainsley Johnson never meant to disappear, but when she unearths the truth of what happened between their families years ago, she retreats to determine her options. Soon after she discovers she’s pregnant, she loses her memory in an accident. As wisps begin to return, she remembers her baby’s father, but why is a sense of foreboding so strong? Nathaniel would never hurt her!

Returning to Jewel Lake and the cowboy she loves restores clarity but panics Ainsley. Run or stay, there’s no way forward without shredding Nathaniel’s heart once again. And this time, there’s a baby to consider…

    my point of view:

This story was not at all what I expected, and I have read everything Valerie Comer has published! I am always amazed at the author’s insight to the different characters, and I simply cannot imagine what it must be like to have this kind of imagination and dedication to get these books written.

Nathaniel is such a strong young man, having survived the love of his life disappearing on him just before he was about to propose And to see how Ainsley doesn’t even remember him two years later when he is the father of her little girl!

Honestly, you get all that in the information about the book above. What you don’t gett is the details of having a Traumatic Brain Injury, how the effects the individual and all their loved ones; what happens when you have a mother who is controlling and thinks she is always right; what this reunion does to the Cavanaugh family, both the siblings and the parents….agh, I think I enjoyed this book as much as for the main characters as I did for all of the sideline stories intertwined as well!

Nathaniel is such a strong young man, having survived the love of his life disappearing on him just before he was about to propose And to see how Ainsley doesn’t even remember him two years later when he is the father of her little girl!

All I can say is….I WANT MORE!

About the Cavanagh Cowboys Romance series

The Cavanagh brothers might be rivals in many ways, but at their ranch? There they cowboy up, keeping the horses fresh, the cattle in tip-top condition, and their twin teenage sisters (mostly) out of trouble. Romance comes knocking at Rockstead Ranch — not once, but six times — in this Montana Ranches Christian Romance series.

No, I haven’t know anyone with Traumatic Brain disorder. However, my son is dealing with short term memory loss after dealing with several explosive devices while serving his country overseas.

My sister is 91 years old and she can’t remember anything you tell her! I don’t believe that is what you meant, though! My son had a stroke with a brain bleed and forgot for a while!

I’m familiar with TBI and PTSD because of family members. The family dynamics of those issues can make for some interesting developments. Can hardly wait to read this one.

Like you, I really like what was going on between Nat & Ainsley; but found the mystery unfolding with the other characters just as compelling. Ainsley was Handicapped in 2 ways, in this Story: physically by the TBI , & by all the things she can’t remember or have been hidden from her!

I once heard an author tell that her husband lost his memory for a few hours after hitting his head pretty hard.
